Cannabis Recipes: Cannabutter

To prepare too many recipes with maryjuana, the first step is to make cannabis butter, which will serve as the basis of any cannabis cuisine recipe.

Those who prefer or are adept at veganism can opt for coconut oil instead of butter, which also works very well and is delicious in the breeze.

But, no matter the base (oil or butter), first of all you will have to do the decarboxylation process of the herb, which consists of the activation of cannabinoids through heat.

That's why it's no use eating marijuana "in natura", because it just won't give a wave.

Without heat, THCA does not convert into THC – that is, eating raw marijuana can have several medicinal effects, but certainly none of them psychoactive.

How to Decarboxylate Marijuana

  1. Grind the cannabis and distribute evenly on the bottom of a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  2. Be careful not to overfill the container, but also don't leave the pieces too spread out. If necessary, use a smaller size mold to ensure proper distribution as you decarboxylate at a time.

  3. Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil, placing it in a preheated oven between 100ºC and a maximum of 130ºC (our tip here is always to use the lowest temperature, that is, 100ºC to 110ºC);

  4. Keep in the oven for a minimum of 40 minutes to 1 hour. During this time, gently stir the herb every 15 minutes.

  5. If possible, use a kitchen thermometer to measure the temperature, remembering that any minimum temperature can be enough to char the herb.

  6. After 40 minutes, when you notice that the herb is browned, remove the pan from the oven and wait for it to cool before removing the foil.

  7. Ready! You have in your hands decarboxylated cannabis, which at this point should look like slightly brownish bran. This extraction can be used in several recipes and will serve as the basis for the cannabis butter that is the main ingredient in the truffle.

Here is the main ingredient of your breeze, which will be responsible for the much-desired breeze: cannabis butter, also called cannabutter.

Let's go step by step:

Ingredients:

  • 100 g of butter

  • 10 grams of decarboxylated cannabis

  • 150 ml of water

  • It is possible to adjust the amount to more or less, as long as the indicated proportions are respected.

Method of preparation:

  • In a pan, place the butter and the glass of water, taking to the low fire so that it melts. Water is added to keep the butter from overheating while maintaining the integrity of the THC.

  • As soon as the butter melts and the water starts to boil, with the formation of bubbles, add the decarboxylated marijuana.

  • Keep cooking on low heat, controlling so that the temperature does not exceed 90º C (if necessary, use a culinary thermometer). Very important: NEVER bring the mixture to a full boil.

  • This process aims to extract the THC and can take up to two hours to get the most out of the cannabinoids. If you are in a hurry, 40 minutes is enough for an average use. During the period it is on the fire, stir it from time to time.

  • After this period, turn off the heat and use a clean dish towel or a stainless steel sieve to strain the mixture, which can be placed in a pot for greater convenience.

  • Allow to cool until the butter has completely hardened. At this point, the water will separate from the butter – and you will need to remove it.

  • To do this, make a small hole in the surface of the butter, letting the water drain completely.

  • Your cannabis butter is ready, which will serve as a base for the breezer and any other recipe you want to infuse with cannabis! Keep the jar in the fridge and consume within a maximum of two months.

it is also possible to prepare cannabis butter in a bain-marie, a process that is more suitable for allowing more control of the temperature. However, it takes longer, and can take up to 6 hours to take full advantage of the cannabinoids.

Good trip!
